Oak Village

The Wonders of the Chiisana Mori no Gasshodan

* It is composed of the yo-na-nuki scale (6 notes: Do, Re, Mi, So, La, Do), which is often used in Japanese children's songs.
This means that no matter what order your child strikes the notes, it will sound like a pleasant melody ♪

* The 6-note scale is created by using different types of wood for the keys.

* Craftsmen carefully shave the back of each key little by little,
adjusting each individual pitch while listening to the sound.

* By using domestically produced wood,
we are contributing to forest conservation and the global environment.

* Just like building blocks,
all the sound discs are carefully chamfered by craftsmen.
The craftsmanship is exceptionally meticulous.

Made with Domestic Wood:
Hinoki (Cypress)
Sendan (Chinaberry)
Nara (Oak)
Sakura (Cherry)
Hoo (Magnolia)
Tochi (Horse Chestnut)
Kihada (Amur Cork Tree)
Kaba (Birch)

With its rich tones, it is recommended as an educational toy.
It was also selected as a Good Toy in 2009.
