Shohei Ohtani on the cover of TIME Magazine
APRIL 25/MAY 2, 2022 Shohei Ohtani Special Issue
TIME Magazine often features prominent individuals who have a significant impact on society and culture on its cover.
This is the first time an MLB player has appeared on the cover of the magazine since 2004, when the Red Sox were crowned champions for the first time in 86 years. It is also the first time a Japanese player has been featured on the cover of the American edition of the magazine.
TIME is a historic magazine known for selecting the 100 Most Influential People in the World, and it is unusual for an individual baseball player to be featured on the cover.
