The Shinonome Tou-Ryoumaki is a traditionally made, tuned flute using only superior bamboo aged for about 5 years. Rattan is wound around the top and mouth opening, preserving the bamboo's natural form.
Its Do-Re-Mi scale tuning produces a sound comparable to that of a Shinobue flute.
The interior is finished with synthetic lacquer. As you use it, the bamboo will gradually change to a tortoiseshell color, making it a cherished instrument that you can use for a long time.
