Authentic Echizen Toyama Owara Koto (Japanese Fiddle) - Rosewood, Coralwood, Bamboo Bow, Horsehair, 3 Bows, Case, Accessories Included.
This is an authentic Owara Koto purchased from a workshop in Echizen Toyama, equivalent to those used in the Owara Kaze no Bon festival. I recall purchasing various accessories as well, and the total cost was around 300,000 yen. The neck is made of rosewood and the body is made of coralwood, with beautiful wood grain that catches the eye.
I used it about once every two weeks for lessons with a koto teacher at a university of arts for about three years.
As it has been used and stored with care, I believe there are no scratches or cracks on the koto itself.
Three bows with horsehair and one bow only are included. As these are consumables, some parts of the horsehair are frayed, but overall they are of high quality.
Various bridges of different heights are included, such as for Bon-uta, Ko-uta, and folk songs.
The case is a trunk type, which I believe is sturdy and good for carrying the koto.
