Plugin Alliance Black Box HG-2

Plugin Alliance Black Box Analog Design HG-2 is a saturator plugin that can add tube-specific saturation and harmonics.

It emulates four types of vacuum tube stages in series and parallel circuits, allowing you to add tube-like textures ranging from natural harmonics to intense distortion.

It's characterized by its ability to add tube sound to any material, not just individual tracks, but also bus tracks and master tracks.
It's appealing for its ability to increase perceived loudness while adding powerful distortion, warmth, and clarity to the sound.

Emulates 4 Types of Vacuum Tube Stages

It features independent gain controls emulating a 6U8A pentode and triode, placed in series between virtual transformers to add tube warmth and distortion to the plugin's input and output.

Blend Pentode and Triode Textures

It also features a Density control, which allows you to drive both tubes harder without changing the relative balance of the pentode and triode or the plugin's output level, making the sound thicker and heavier.

The Calibration menu emulates the effect of internal trim adjustments on the original hardware, instantly changing the HG-2's high-frequency response with three colorings: Dark, Normal, and Bright.

Tube-like Punch and Softness

Equipped with an Air knob, useful for adding harmonics to vocals, strings, pianos, and full mixes to improve high-end clarity.

Adjusting the Mix control adds dry signal to the plugin output, allowing you to add the soft and glossy texture of HG-2's tubes while completely preserving the detail and punch of the mix.
