BOSE SoundDock Speaker Genuine Insert

This is a dedicated part (dedicated insert) for BOSE SoundDock speakers.
My younger brother used this when he lived alone a long time ago, but he no longer has the SoundDock main unit, so I don't know the details.
It is said to be an insert that allows you to securely fix different generations of iPods by inserting it.
My brother said it might have been given by the manufacturer as a service later on, or it might have been an original accessory, so it's unclear which generation of adapter it is, but the inner diameter is approximately 62mm (see the last image).
As expected of a genuine product, it has a rubber gasket firmly attached to the back.
Is there anyone who can make good use of this?
