Vintage Schmid England Porcelain Christmas Musical Teapot WORKS O Xmas Tree

Up for purchase is a beautiful, highly collectible vintage Schmid Christmas musical teapot. This festive holiday piece features a classic transfer design of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree surrounded by vintage toys (a doll, teddy bear, toy train, and dollhouse) framed by elegant holly leaf garlands. Crafted with a dual-heritage assembly, the porcelain body is stamped Handcrafted Schmid England and features an elegant embossed filigree scrollwork pattern molded into the glossy glaze. The handle, spout tip, and lid finial are meticulously accented with hand-painted gold trim. Built into the round pedestal base is a wind-up Sankyo-style plastic mechanical insert made in Japan. It features a gravity plunger stop mechanism. Simply wind the key clock-wise; the music remains completely silent when sitting flat on your tabletop. Once lifted up to pour, the plunger drops down and beautifully plays the classic German holiday tune O Tannenbaum (O Christmas Tree). Setting the teapot back down instantly stops the music. The music box is in perfect working order. However due to its age, longevity is not guaranteed. Wonderful vintage condition- slight thinning of the gold trim & minor holly berry loss on the lid as shown in photos. The rest of the details remain bright, crisp and clean.
