1963 Timex Viscount Self-Wind Automatic Vintage Men’s Watch – Runs Great
Timex
Beautiful vintage Timex Viscount Self-Wind mechanical wristwatch, dating to approximately 1963. This is one of Timex’s early self-winding automatic watches from the classic Viscount line. Unlike some vintage Timex models, this movement can be manually wound as well as automatically wound through wrist movement. The watch is in exceptionally clean vintage condition. For a watch that is approximately 63 years old, the overall appearance is remarkable. The silver/champagne dial is very clean, with raised Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, applied baton markers, sweep seconds hand and the classic SELF-WIND designation. The silver-tone case presents beautifully, and the watch is fitted with a distinctive vintage expansion-style metal bracelet. Most importantly — the watch runs great. Details: • Timex Viscount • Approx. 1963 • Reference believed to be 4014-3163 • Mechanical automatic / self-winding movement • Can also be manually wound • Silver/champagne dial • Raised 12-3-6-9 numerals • Sweep seconds • Chrome-tone case • Stainless steel back • Vintage metal expansion bracelet • Acrylic crystal • Running very well Case back is marked Timex, Self-Wind, Waterproof, Shock Resistant, Base Metal Bezel, Stainless Steel Back. This is a very clean survivor and a great example of an early Timex automatic. Excellent addition to a vintage Timex or mid-century watch collection.
