Fenix Kislovodsk Porcelain Russian Stacked Tea Set, Hand-painted, significant gold gilding Excellent condition, no cracks or chips  NOTE:  Here is how the set functions:  Making Tea Concentrate: You fill the smallest, topmost teapot with water and a large amount of loose tea leaves to create a very strong tea concentrate (zavarka).Heating Water: The larger, bottom teapot is used to boil or hold hot water.Stacking to Keep Warm: The pots are designed so the base of a smaller pot fits perfectly into the lid opening of the larger pot below it. By stacking them in a pyramid (the smallest on top), the steam and heat rising from the bottom teapots keep the tea concentrate in the upper pot piping hot.Serving: When serving, you pour a small amount of the strong tea concentrate from the top teapot into a cup, and then dilute it with the hot water from the larger teapot to reach your preferred strength.When not in use, the teapots are nested together to save space on the counter or to be displayed as a single decorative piece.
