Crate&Barrel
Crate&Barrel Camilla Engdahl ELSA Mug rare discontinued EUC ribbed ceramic
Claudia Engdahl is a Swedish potter with a clay studio in central Sweden (it’s called CLAY.) She is incredibly talented and collaborated with crate & barrel on these sturdy, modernist mugs. The clay is solid and ribbed and there is a large grayish black dot on front, not quite 2.5” in diameter. The diameter of the cup is not quite 4.25” If you have a set of these, don’t miss this opportunity to snag another. This mug will not be produced again by Camilla. You’ll have to travel to her studio in central Sweden. It looks quite amazing! Her influences are the 1950s, so there is a modernist mid-century and distinctly Nordic bent to her aesthetic. This solid mug is stoneware/ earthenware. Made in China (it’s crate&barrel after all) but still Camilla’s unmistakable bold design. Holds approximately 16 ozs. In perfect condition, with just the slightest scratch on the circle.
