This is a combination of a purple silk obi and a black obi. The purple patterned section is placed to accent the body. It's an elegant yet cool design. This is a two-piece otaiko obi. As shown in photo 9, the otaiko is formed after securing it with an obi makura (obi pillow). If you'd like, we can sew the otaiko shape for you, so please let us know in the comments. It's fun to wear casually, and it also goes well with slightly more refined kimonos.
