Blue Glass Ruffled Edge Decorative Vase with Sterling Silver Floral Overlay.

Vintage blue art glass vase featuring a scalloped, ruffled rim and a hand-painted  floral/foliate overlay in sterling silver.  In excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Hand blown glass. There is some tarnish on the silver but the pattern is fully intact.   The stickers confirm it is an authentic mid-century piece decorated by the National Silver Deposit Ware Company.   Here is what the labels tell us:  The Maker/Decorator: The middle oval foil label reads National Silver Deposit Ware Co. N.Y. with their trademark Rhodiant Finish. This was a specialized non-tarnish treatment they applied to their sterling silver overlays so the customer wouldn't have to polish them.  The Retailer: The top yellow sticker is a vintage jeweler's label from Krezdorn's Jewelers • Optometrists located in Seguin, Texas.   National Silver Deposit Ware Co. did not make the glass themselves; they bought blanks from prominent American glass houses (like Fenton or Cambridge), applied the sterling silver deposit designs in New York, and distributed them to high-end jewelry and gift shops across the country.
