Traditional Kokeshi Tsugaru Style Nuruyu Style Mitsuo Mori Approx. 38.5cm Large Rare Artist Nebuta Daruma Painted Wooden Craft

This is a rare, large kokeshi by Mitsuo Mori, a master craftsman of the Tsugaru Nuruyu (warm water) style. Standing approximately 38.5cm tall, it has a strong presence and would be a striking addition to any collection or interior decor.

Mitsuo Mori, born in 1955, is a legitimate successor to the Tsugaru kokeshi tradition, with his grandfather being the renowned craftsman Shutarō Mori. Due to his limited production and the recent scarcity of his works in the market, he is one of the artists who are difficult to obtain.

This piece features the delicate painting style characteristic of the Tsugaru style, with a powerful Nebuta Daruma depicted on the body, combining tradition and artistry. While his signature has varied over the years, this piece appears to be from the period when he used the Mori Mitsuo inscription, making it a highly valuable item for collectors.
