Description
Original March 1957 U.S. government pamphlet titled If You Are Disabled, published by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Social Security Administration, Bureau of Old-Age and Survivors Insurance. Publication OASI-29. U.S. Government Printing Office C16-73137-1. Originally sold for 10 cents. An interesting piece of early Social Security disability history, issued shortly after the 1956 Social Security amendments established disability insurance benefits for qualifying disabled workers. This publication was also discussed in Congress in 1957 regarding how disability eligibility requirements were explained to the public. Features excellent period mid-century cover artwork depicting workers and a doctor examining a patient. Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related toning, edge/corner wear and other signs of storage and handling. Please review photos carefully for exact condition. Great piece of 1950s government, Social Security, disability-policy, medical or mid-century paper ephemera.
