Tea Ceremony Utensil: Mulberry Natsume with Maki-e Lacquer and Silk Pouch
I am organizing my parents' home.
This is a natsume (tea caddy) made of beautiful, grain-patterned mulberry wood, which belonged to my mother.
It features a subdued caramel-colored lacquer with a maki-e (gold lacquer sprinkled on) design of floral motifs.
Its charm lies in the warm texture unique to mulberry wood and the deepening color that comes with use, and I believe it would also look lovely in a tea ceremony setting.
A shifuku (pouch) was also included.
There are no noticeable large scratches or chips, and it is in good condition overall.
There are minor scuffs due to age, but they are within the range that can be enjoyed as part of its character.
Please check the images for details.
I would be happy to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.
I kindly ask for your understanding if you are familiar with such works, understand that this is an old item, and will cherish it.
