Martin Martin Genuine Cow Bone Shaped Saddle

For Acoustic Guitars

This is a genuine Martin bone shaped saddle imported from the USA. Until March 2022, this was the only genuine shaped saddle we imported.

However, we realized that most people would find this saddle to be too tall (Martin's designation is High Compensated). We sold it with the idea that bigger is better and that you could simply shave it down to adjust the height if it was too high.

But we learned how difficult it is for the average person to accurately shave off about 1mm horizontally and perfectly level. Therefore, we have also started selling a type that is 1mm shorter than this one.

You might think it's just a 1mm difference, but to put it in perspective, the difference between a string height of 2.5mm and 3.5mm illustrates the significance of that 1mm difference.

We believe that most people will find the shorter type to be the standard height.

However, it's not always the case that this saddle is too tall.
It depends on your guitar's setup and condition.

We will provide the dimensions, so please compare the size of your guitar's saddle with this saddle's dimensions to decide if this product is right for you or if the shorter type would be better.
Thickness: Approx. 2.5mm / Height: Approx. 10.5mm at the center / Approx. 9.1mm for the 1st string / Approx. 10.3mm for the 6th string / Width: Approx. 73.7mm

Also, the difference between this product and the shorter type (which we call the medium type) is not just the height. The medium type has a gentler, non-offset curve on the top surface.

If you are looking for the offset processed type, this is the product for you.

Furthermore, this product is sold as a replacement part and does not come in a package with a Martin logo, but rather in bulk packaging. Please be aware of this in advance.

Purchased on Rakuten. New and unused.
