Antique Royal Vienna Cobalt Covered Urn Signed C Heer Austria Hand Painted Amor

A beautifully decorated antique porcelain covered urn in the celebrated Royal Vienna style, Austrian, circa 1890-1910, and signed by the painter C. Heer - a documented Vienna-style porcelain decorator - confirming the finely hand-painted work. The cobalt blue ground is richly worked with raised and beaded gilt jeweling, and the front reserve is hand painted with a mythological scene of a woman with a sleeping winged Cupid, signed C. Heer along the border. The underside is titled in script Schlafender Amor (Sleeping Cupid), marked with the blue underglaze beehive (Bindenschild) shield, and stamped Austria - the export mark placing it after 1891. The campana urn form has twin gilt handles, a domed cover with pointed finial, and a square gilt-decorated plinth base. It stands approximately 8.25 inches tall and 3 inches wide. Condition: lovely display condition with some rubbing and wear to the gilding consistent with age. Please review all photos closely for gilt wear and overall condition. A wonderful piece for collectors of Royal Vienna and signed Vienna-style porcelain, cobalt and gilt cabinet pieces, and antique Austrian decorative arts. Keywords: Royal Vienna, C.
