Description
This is a single-layered Chayatsuji Omeshi silk kimono from the prestigious Shozan brand.
It's not the older Shozan Chayatsuji, but a piece from two years ago. I purchased it at a high-end kimono shop for 750,000 yen as fabric.
Chayatsuji patterns were originally a formal design used by upper-class samurai women in the Edo period.
The overall color scheme uses indigo gray, black, and amber, with the pine trees in gentian (light purple) and light green, creating a very refined look.
The plain areas feature subtle gold threads that depict waves.
Suitable for a wide range of occasions, from everyday lunches to glamorous parties.
My sister had it made, but it hasn't been worn, so I'm putting it up for sale.
