Description
Austria Antique 1900s Set Of 2 Salad Plates Wild Rose Silver Scroll, 8” PLEASE NOTE: The first image is an artistic representation; all other photos and the video show the actual item. Pictures are part of the description, please check them & let me know if you require additional ones. Good antique condition consistent with its age. Defects & imperfections – please check pictures made under the bright light & magnification: • One plate: professionally repaired crack • Both plates: faint surface scratches, barely noticeable in person Fascinating Fun Facts: • The McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 mandated that all goods imported into the United States clearly state their country of origin. Because of this, many factories across the historic Bohemia/Austrian empire added a standalone Austria text mark strictly to comply with customs • A plain “Austria” mark (rather than “Made in Austria” or “Czechoslovakia”) confirms the piece predates 1918, when the region was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire Dimensions: 8 in Weight: 1 lb
