Hakata Ori, a Traditional Craft of Fukuoka. Hakata Ori is a silk fabric woven by forcefully interlacing thick weft threads, made by combining several fine threads, with numerous warp threads. Its firm yet supple texture is primarily utilized for obi (sashes). The warp threads are densely packed, making it easy to tie and resistant to loosening, earning it the reputation of once tied, it never loosens. The durable, lightweight, and easy-to-tie Hakata Ori obi is ideal for extended outings in a kimono. I believe this is a rare pattern.
