Vintage Schmid tapestry-covered jewelry / trinket box with padded rose bouquet tapestry lid and floral tapestry sides, ivory braided trim. Gold interior with hinged lid. Original Schmid tag inside. Plays Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' (written by Rodgers and Hammerstein for the iconic 1943 Broadway musical Oklahoma!) was a massive favorite for their vanity trinket boxes and nursery collectibles during the 1970s and 1980s. Schmid Brothers of Randolph Massachusetts imported and distributed decorative porcelain and giftware from the 1930s through the 90s, and this tapestry-covered padded jewelry box is one of their softer boudoir line pieces. Cabbage rose bouquet tapestry over a padded octagonal form, gold satin interior. Schmid label still inside.
