Coach 9704 Buffalo Hide Paper Bag Tote Mahogany Brown Leather Vintage Bag

Vintage Coach Buffalo Hide Paper Bag Tote – Style 9704, made in 2001.  Often compared to the coveted Penelope Paper Bag Tote (9714) for its tall north–south silhouette and classic turnlock pocket design. Buffalo hide examples of the 9704 appear far less often than the glove-tanned Penelope, and complete originals with the hangtag are increasingly hard to find.  Crafted in richly grained buffalo hide leather in a deep reddish mahogany that develops a beautiful patina over time, with solid brass hardware and the original large brass Coach hangtag.  Dual rolled leather handles and a turnlock-secured front pocket. Dogleash clip top closure. The interior is lined in dark signature C canvas with one leather-trimmed zipper pocket. Four protective brass feet on the base.  Excellent Vintage Condition. Callouts, pictured: A couple of faint dark marks, and a dark mark on the underside of one handle.
