◇First Masakichi Yamanaka (Shōin) Silk Painting Tanzaiku
Omi Hino merchant (Omi Merchant) engaged in the sake brewing and soy sauce brewing business in Ōmiya Town, Fuji District, Suruga Province (present-day Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture). His former residence is now the Omi Hino Merchant Hometown Museum Former Masakichi Yamanaka Residence.
After retiring, he studied Japanese painting under Tōho Murata, one of the four great painters of Chikuzen. In the 17th year of the Meiji era, he was awarded a commendation at the 2nd National Painting Exhibition, and it is said that the money from the purchase by the Imperial Household Agency was used to build 18 stone bridges.
