He is the brother of fellow ceramic artist Jeremy Diller. Artistic Style & Characteristics Glazes: His work is characterized by vibrant iridescent finishes that shift between colors like green, blue, copper, and black. These effects are achieved through the Raku firing process, which involves removing red-hot pottery from the kiln and placing it in a reduction chamber with combustible materials. Thematic Designs: Common motifs include Hawaiian petroglyphs, sea turtles (honu), dolphins, and Southwestern symbols like the Kokopelli. Series: Notable series include Marine Dream (ocean-themed) and Volcano's Fire (inspired by Maui's volcanic landscapes).
