Crane and Tortoise Hanging Scroll Japanese Painting Omori Kinsui

Thank you for viewing this item.
This is a hanging scroll by Kotsusui Omori.
This is a very auspicious work, depicting auspicious motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, cranes, and turtles all in one scroll.
At the top of the painting, there is the rising sun and a pine tree with strong branches.
Pine is a symbol of longevity and immortality and, due to its evergreen nature, signifies permanence and prosperity.
Beside it, plum blossoms bloom delicately.
Plum blossoms, which bloom in the harsh cold, symbolize patience, elegance, and good fortune and are considered a harbinger of spring.
Two dignified cranes symbolize marital harmony and longevity.
Their facing posture represents harmony and contentment, making it a composition that would be greatly appreciated as a gift for families or couples.
Turtles are depicted at the bottom, and as the saying goes, Cranes live for a thousand years, turtles for ten thousand, it embodies wishes for longevity and family prosperity.
Bamboo is also included, symbolizing growth, development, and vitality.
The combination of pine, bamboo, and plum, known as the Three Friends of Winter, is a highly elegant pairing that signifies unwavering prosperity even in difficult times.
From a Feng Shui perspective, it is said to enhance:
- Longevity luck
- Family luck
- Business prosperity luck
- Stability in interpersonal relationships
making it ideal for display in the tokonoma (alcove), entrance, or reception room.
This auspicious painting is particularly suitable for the New Year, celebrations, or opening ceremonies.
The colors are elegant and calm, yet the red of the rising sun tightens the overall composition, adding dignity and splendor to the space.
The brocade mounting is also very beautiful, making this a scroll with a strong presence.
We recommend this piece both as an auspicious item and as interior decor.
We would be honored if someone who feels a connection to it would welcome it into their home.
