Vintage 1972 Massachusetts Nantucket Island collector plate manufactured in Denmark by Kesa / Chateau Inc. as part of a historical commemorative series. Object Details / Design: The plate features a classic cobalt blue and white underglaze transferware illustration of the historic Second Congregational Meeting House (now the Nantucket Unitarian Universalist Church), instantly recognizable by its landmark 1801 gold-domed clock tower. Border: The rim features a gold stencil laurel leaf pattern encircling the state name MASSACHUSETTS across the top and a lower banner reading NANTUCKET ISLAND above the year 1972. Manufacturer: Marked on the reverse side with the EF Decor Danmark stamp, this series was designed by Kesa, produced in Denmark, and commissioned by Chateau Inc. for the US historical souvenir market.
